A little over a year ago, I started making wine at home.  It seemed like a fun thing to do and its a natural extension of my journey into the world of wine.  My wife convinced me to start drinking wine about 3 years ago and we make at least 1 annual pilgramage to Napa each year.  

When I made my first batch of homemade wine, I needed a name for it.  I wanted to produce labels so it could be used for gifts and contests.  Like all home winemakers, I have delusions of going pro at some point and getting the brand going couldn’t hurt either.  I struggled with names and different concepts.  I knew what I wanted the image to be - serious and fun.  After all, wine is what you like and should be fun to enjoy.  I spent about 2 months having conversations with anyone that would listen about a brand name and concept. 

One day the name Floating Tub came up.  Ater all, my production facility is my spare bath tub and I have a nautical background.  Over a period of a few days the concept grew in my mind.  I worked with a graphic artist to refine the artwork for what I considered a serious yet fun concept that explains the background of the wine. 

The Floating Tub was born with 2 cases of 2006 California Sauvignon Blanc.  The second round of the Tub was finished with 4 cases of 2007 New York Reisling.
